Fairfield will enter the contest with a perfect 3-0 record, after defeating American Athletic Conference's Preseason favorites South Florida on Thursday. The victory marked Fairfield's first win over an AAC foe under Coach Carly, who has now defeated opponents from 14 different conferences as the leader of the Stags.
Saturday will be the 100th game in Coach Carly's tenure as she holds a 77-22 overall record and her .778 winning percentage ranks 12th amongst all active Division I head coaches.
Fairfield netted 80 in their victory over USF, their second-straight game hitting the 80-mark. The Stags enter Saturday's contest as the MAAC leader with 81.0 points per game. Fairfield also leads the conference in: assists (18.7), field goal percentage (.416), and 3-pointers per game (11.7).
The Stags found success from the free throw line against the Bulls, converting 23 of their 27 attempts from the charity stripe.
Kaety L'Amoreaux was at the forefront of that success as she hit all 10 of her chances, becoming the 10th Stag all-time to have a perfect showing from the free throw line with at least 10 attempts. This season, L'Amoreaux has hit all 15 of her free throws, the longest streak in the country.
The success at the line fueled L'Amoreaux's impressive performance as she neared a career-high finishing with 28 points while also adding eight rebounds and six assists. She also connected on her 100th career 3-pointer, becoming the 18th Stag all-time to reach triple digits.
Janelle Brown also reached a milestone in the victory, dishing out her 300th career assist becoming the 20th Stag to achieve that number.
North Carolina is coming off their first loss of the season falling to No. 3 UCLA. Indya Nivar is the team's leading scorer with a 12.3 scoring average. The Tar Heels are currently ranked No. 11 in the AP Top-25 poll and No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Stags will have over a week break before next taking the court at Leo D. Mahoney Arena against New Haven on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 11am. The contest will be Fairfield's Kids Day Out as the Stags will compete in a sellout crowd comprising local area schools.
