Natasha De Pree earned the women's swimming rookie of the week award while
Andrew Nathe secured the men's swimming rookie of the week honor as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced its weekly swimming and diving honors on Wednesday.
De Pree, who earned the award for the second consecutive week, picked up three individual wins during a dual meet with Providence College. The freshman opened the day with the top time in the 200 free, clocking in at 2:08.41. She followed up with the best time in both the 100 free (59.74) and the 400 free (4:30.85). De Pree ended the afternoon as a member of the 200 free relay that collected first place with a time of 1:50.34.
Nathe picks up the rookie of the week honor for the second time this year after putting in a strong performance against Providence College. He garnered a first-place swim in the 200 free by clocking in at 1:56.54 before taking second place in the 400 free by touching the wall in 4:15.58. He was also part of the 200 free relay team that turned in the best showing with a time of 1:35.48.
The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams, under Head Coach
Jake Lichter, will continue their season by hosting a dual meet against Marist University on Saturday, October 25. The diving portion will begin at 10 am followed by the swimming events at approximately 12 pm.
