EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Soccer senior striker
Maddy Theriault was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Week after tallying nine points on four goals and an assist which included a hat trick at Saint Peter's. She also became the third Stag ever to reach 100 career points and the first in over 25 years.
"It's really great for Maddy to be honored this week after surpassing the 100-point milestone this weekend," Head Coach
David Barrett said. "Let's hope it gets her going for the stretch run."
Theriault's week was highlighted by a seven-point performance in the win against the Peacocks as she registered her second career hat trick, both coming this season. She started her scoring 88 seconds into the match, picking up her 15th career game-winning tally, tying for the most in program history.
In the Fairfield record books, she also sits second in career goals (42) and tied for second in points (104).
Nationally, Theriault ranks in the top-five with 11 goals and ninth with 25 points.
This is Theriault's second weekly award of the season and the sixth of her career.
Theriault and the Stags are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Rider at 6pm.
