FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will visit another MAAC unbeaten team when they hit the road to face the Iona Gaels on Thursday night at 6pm. The Stags enter the contest with a 3-0 conference record which improves their winning streak to 26-straight games against MAAC opponents, a streak that has lasted over 670 days.

Fairfield has won all three of their conference games this season by at least 15 points and hold an average winning margin of 23.6 points in their victories.

Sophomore Road Runner Meghan Andersen netted a team-high, and a Leo D. Mahoney record, 27 points in their last win over Merrimack as she went 11-for-18 from the field. Fairfield's 3-0 conference record is the 13th time in program history they have won their first three MAAC games.

The Stags boast the league's best offense as they lead the MAAC in: scoring offense (72.3), assists per game (17.0), field goal percentage (.458), and 3-pointers made per game (8.3). Izabela Nicoletti-Leite has been the conductor on the offensive side, ranking fourth in the country with a 3.61 assist-turnover ratio.

Iona enters play with a 4-0 mark in the conference, their best start in the MAAC in nearly a decade. The Gaels have a balanced offensive attack, with no player averaging double figures in scoring. Judith Gomez is the team leader with 8.9 points per game.

The Stags will next return home to Leo D. Mahoney Arena and welcome Marist on Saturday at 2pm.
