FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will travel to North Andover, Mass., to face the Merrimack Warriors in their first road game of the series in program history. The Stags are coming off their eighth-straight win courtesy of a stellar defensive performance holding Manhattan to 44 points and 15 made field goals. Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm
 
The Stags' stingy defense allowed only seven Manhattan field goals over the final 30 minutes and just one bucket in the second quarter. The Stags actually trailed in the second half for the first time in conference play this season, but built a 20-0 run to take command of the game.
 
Kaety L'Amoreaux led the Stags with 23 points, her third 20+ point performance of the season. Meghan Andersen, the reigning MAAC Player of the Week, added 19 points which raised her average to 16.3 points for the year.
 
While the offense has been grabbing attention this season, Fairfield's defense was stifling in the win over the Jaspers forcing 29 turnovers and allowing just 15 field goals. Fairfield has averaged 28.5 turnovers in their last two games. In MAAC games, the Stags have forced 20 or more miscues in seven of their eight contests, averaging over 22 per game.
 
Fairfield maintains their perfect 8-0 conference record and improved their winning streak against MAAC opponents to 31-straight which spans over 680 calendar days.
 
Merrimack enters play with an even 4-4 record in the conference after their 15-point win over Saint Peter's. Thalia Shepard is the team's leader with 12.0 points per game while Madison Roman controls the boards with 8.4 rebounds per contest.
 
The Stags will return home for a two-game home stand, starting with a showdown against Quinnipiac on Thursday at 7pm at Leo D. Mahoney Arena.
