MONTGOMERY, N.Y. - Fairfield University Men's Cross Country was in action for the second time in 2024 on Saturday morning at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational hosted by Manhattan University, where the Stags finished ninth out of 13 squads.  Saturday's 8K race took place on the course at the Twin Ponds on the Farm, which will also be the site of the MAAC Championship Meet in early November.

For the second straight meet, junior Ryan Lindley was the first member of Head Coach Jake Jayworth's team to cross the finish line. He covered the 8K terrain in a time of 26:14.1; placing him 39th out of 137 runners. George Hohenleitner (26:44.7), Olli Muniz (26:50.8), Gabriel Montoya (27:00.5) and Jack Putnam (27:42.1) completed Fairfield's top quintet of racers at Twin Ponds on the Farm.

Also representing Fairfield on the course were Bryce Robinson, Chase Orciuch and Colin Shand.

Stony Brook took first place in the team standing with a score of 24 points, placing three of the meet's top four runners and five of the top 10. With their ninth place performance, the Stags defeated MAAC foe Quinnipiac as well as Marywood, Felician and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Fairfield returns to action next Saturday, September 21 at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University in New Britain's Stanley Quarter Park.
