PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -- The Fairfield University men's rowing team completed the first day of competition at the Dad Vail Regatta with the Stags placing entries in the pair, second varsity 4, the second varsity 8, and the varsity 8. All four boats will finish up the event on Saturday morning in their respective finals.
The pair opened the morning with time trails, posting a time of 9:24.795 which sent the duo into the semifinals.
Alex Hemmat and
Lanyon Henwood represented the Stags and ended the afternoon with a time of 8:17.261. Based on that time, the pair qualified for the second final which goes off at 8:16 am.
The second varsity 4 was next in the water and responded with a finish in 8:55.815 in time trails which also qualified for the semifinals. The crew came back with solid performance in the semis, crossing the finish line in 8:18.765. Based on that time, the Stags will send the second varsity 4 into the second final which starts at 9:12 am. Fairfield's shell was comprised by

In the second varsity competition, Fairfield garnered a time trail time of 7:37.997 which sent them into their semifinal race. Later in the day, the crew completed the distance in 7:18.16 which qualified it for the second final which begins at 9:28 am. The Stags entry consisted of

In the final event of the day, the Stags saw its varsity 8 boat cross the finish line in 6:41.51 which was strong enough to advance to the semifinals. In that bracket, the Stags garnered a time of 6:56.762 which qualified the crew for the third final which starts at 10:48 am. The Fairfield shell included
