Top Seed at Stake in Regular Season Finale, Saturday at Siena

The #23 Stags eye an unbeaten run through the MAAC

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The top seed in the upcoming MAAC Championship will be on the line on Saturday, April 20 when #23 Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse visits Siena. The Stags have already locked up a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship and would claim the outright title with a win. The Saints are vying for their share of the crown as well as the right to host the upcoming MAAC postseason.

The #23 Fairfield University Stags (14-1, 8-0 MAAC)
  • Fairfield clinched its second straight regular season title with a 19-11 win at Rider on Wednesday. The Stags have won five of the last six MAAC Regular Season Championships and 15 total since rising to varsity status in 1997.
  • Elizabeth Talluto had a five-point day against the Broncs, rising to second in the MAAC in goals (53) and fourth in points (73).
  • Brynn Donnelly enters the contest with 95 draw controls on the season. She is five shy of becoming only the second Stag to reach 100 draw controls in a season and 28 shy of matching Erin Mammele's program-record 128 draw controls in 2018.
  • Fairfield leads the MAAC and ranks 15th nationally with a .593 win percentage on the draw.

The Siena College Saints (12-4, 7-1 MAAC)
  • Siena kept pace with the Stags with a 15-12 win at Quinnipiac on Wednesday. The Saints' lone setback in league action was a 13-12 loss at Iona on March 30.
  • Grace Dobrzynski currently leads the nation with 55 assists as a part of her MAAC-high 78 points.
  • Siena's leading goal scorer is Kelly Logue with 33 markers on the year.
  • Sabrina Krasner protects the Siena cage with a .431 save percentage and an even 10.00 goals-against average.

Series History
  • Fairfield's 17-4 win in the 2023 MAAC Championship Game extended the Stags' lead to 28-4 in the all-time series.
  • The Stags have eliminated the Saints in each of the last four conference tournaments, including the final round in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
  • Fairfield is 11-3 all-time against Siena in Loudonville. The Saints took the last regular season meeting on their home turf in 2022, but the Stags avenged that loss on the same field in the MAAC Championship Semifinals.
  • In Fairfield's last five wins in the series, the Stags have held Siena under 10 goals.

Up Next
  • Fairfield will be one of the top two seeds in the upcoming MAAC Championship.
  • The Stags will return to action on Friday, May 3 in the semifinal round.
  • The tournament will be held either at Siena or on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium, pending Saturday's result.
