#23 Stags Host Manhattan on Senior Day, Saturday at Noon

Fairfield brings a 12-game winning streak into its final regular season home game

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – #23 Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse will celebrate Senior Day when the Stags host Manhattan on Saturday, April 13. Opening draw on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium is set for noon with Senior Day festivities to begin at 11:45 a.m.

#23 Fairfield University Stags (12-1, 6-0 MAAC)
  • Fairfield most recently rolled past Quinnipiac, 17-5, on Wednesday for its 12th consecutive win.
  • The Stags have limited all 12 opponents during its current winning streak to 10 goals or less.
  • Fairfield ranks sixth in the nation in scoring defense with 8.15 goals allowed per game.
  • Offensively, Elizabeth Talluto sets the pace with 48 goals and 62 total points. She is two goals shy of becoming only the second Stag to record two 50-goal seasons.
  • With a win, Fairfield would clinch a top-two seed and first round bye in the upcoming MAAC Championship. A win and a Siena loss (at The Mount) would stake the Stags to at least a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship.

Manhattan College Jaspers (4-10, 1-5 MAAC)
  • Manhattan is coming off of a 12-7 loss to Canisius to slip to 1-5 in MAAC play as a part of a 4-10 overall mark.
  • The Jaspers' conference win was a 7-4 home triumph over Quinnipiac on April 3.
  • Manhattan ranks last in the MAAC in scoring offense at 8.50 goals per contest and ninth in scoring defense, conceding 13.21 goals per outing.
  • Olivia Cruthers leads the Jaspers in all three scoring categories with 18 goals and 16 assists for a total of 34 points.

Series History
  • Fairfield has won 17 consecutive meetings with the Jaspers and holds a 24-5 lead in the all-time series.
  • Manhattan has reached double-digit goals just three times during the Stags' 17-game winning streak.
  • Laura Field is 8-0 against the Jaspers as head coach and 16-0 in total as a member of the Fairfield coaching staff.

Up Next
  • The Stags wrap up the MAAC regular season next week with visits to Rider and Siena.
  • The first-year Broncs are 8-6 overall and 2-4 in the MAAC heading into a Saturday visit to Niagara.
  • The Saints are currently 5-1 in the MAAC as part of a 10-4 overall record. Should both Fairfield and Siena win their remaining games, the April 20 clash in Loudonville will be for the top seed and hosting duties for the upcoming MAAC Championship.
