Stags Host Vermont, Wednesday at 3 PM at Rafferty Stadium

Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse is 3-1 on the season

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse returns to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium this Wednesday, March 6 to host Vermont at 3 p.m. The Stags have won three straight games entering the midweek clash with the Catamounts. Admission is free for all fans.
 
The Fairfield University Stags (3-1, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Fairfield is 3-1 on the season, most recently knocking off Hofstra on Long Island on Feb. 24.
  • For the second straight week, the Stags are receiving votes in the IWLCA Poll.
  • Elizabeth Talluto ranks second in the MAAC and 23rd in the nation in goals per game (3.75).
  • Rylee Harrell leads the conference and ranks 25th nationally with 6.25 draw controls per contest.
  • As a team, the Stags are hauling in 16.50 draw controls per game, ranking 22nd in the nation with a .589 win percentage on the restart.
 
The University of Vermont Catamounts (5-1, 0-0 America East)
  • Vermont earned a 13-10 win at Marist this past Saturday to improve to 5-1.
  • Ava Vasile is among the nation's leading scorers, ranking second in America East and eighth in the country with 4.40 goals per game.
  • UVM was 8-8 last season, finishing third in America East at 5-2.
  • Fairfield graduate Caroline Mangan – the 2023 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and two-time MAAC Championship MVP – is in her first season as an assistant coach at Vermont.
 
Series History
  • With last season's 14-8 win in Burlington, the Stags are 7-1 all-time with seven straight wins against the Catamounts.
  • The series was played annual from 1997-2002 and renewed in 2014 and 2023.
