#19/24 Fairfield Opens MAAC Schedule at Niagara, Saturday at 1 PM

The Stags bring a six-game winning streak to Western New York

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- #19/24 Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse opens the MAAC portion of the 2024 schedule this Saturday at Niagara. Opening draw in Western New York is slated for noon.
 
#19/24 Fairfield University Stags (6-1, 0-0 MAAC)
  • The Stags are nationally ranked for the second straight week, rising one spot in both polls to #19 in USA Lacrosse Magazine and #24 by the IWLCA.
  • Fairfield rolled past Sacred Heart, 15-5, on Saturday to notch its sixth consecutive win and fourth victory of the campaign over a 2023 NCAA postseason qualifier.
  • The Fairfield attack is paced by Elizabeth Talluto with 24 goals and 33 total points.
  • Libby Rowe adds a team-leading 12 assists.
  • In the cage, Claire Morris is the MAAC leader with a .462 save percentage and slots second with a 9.33 goals-against average.
  • The defense in front of Morris is headed by Lindsey Barnes with 14 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls.
 
Niagara University Purple Eagles (7-1, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Niagara has won six straight games, most recently downing Columbia in overtime to move to 7-1.
  • The Purple Eagles are the MAAC's highest scoring offense with 15.75 goals per game.
  • Individually, Niagara boasts the three most prolific goal scorers in the MAAC in Andra Savage (31), Lexi Braniecki (29) and Lois Garlow (25).
  • Riley Latray has dished out a conference-best 27 assists, which ranks sixth nationally.
  • Jordan Roy protects the Niagara cage to a .444 save percentage and 10.90 goals-against average.
