CONTOOCOOK, N.H.- Hannah Snayd paced the Fairfield University women's cross country team at the 2024 NCAA Northeast Regional hosted by UMass Lowell at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Contoocook, New Hampshire on Friday morning, placing 46th in a field of 268 runners. The 2024 MAAC individual champion covered the 6K course in a time of 20:59.93.
Mia Strazzella was the next Fairfield runner to cross the finish line at the NCAA regional in a time of 22:18.36.
Catherine Gobo (23:05.42), Sophie Cheesman (23:26.86) and Devan Gambello (23:55.79) wrapped up the Stags' top five runners on Friday.
Molly Ryle (24:21.22) and Ada Gebauer (24:25.58) completed the Fairfield team at this year's NCAA Regionals.
As a team, the Stags finished 30th out of 39 scoring squads and a total of 42 competing institutions; topping fellow MAAC members Sacred Heart, Niagara and Manhattan. Providence took home Friday's team crown with a total of 51 points, as four Friars finished in the top ten. Providence along with second place Syracuse will now advance as teams to the 2024 NCAA Division I National Championship Meet that will be held in Madison, Wisconsin.
UConn's Chloe Thomas took first place on Friday in a time of 19:23.09.
