MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Hannah Snayd won her third consecutive individual conference championship to lead Fairfield University Women's Cross Country to fifth place at the 2026 Metro Conference Championship. Snayd is only the second woman in conference history to win three straight individual titles.
Making her 2026 season debut for the Stags, Snayd broke the tape on the 6K course in 21:25.2 to beat the field by more than six seconds. Already the only individual champion in Fairfield Cross Country history, Snayd joins Iona's Egle Morenaite (2017-19) as the only three-time league champions in Metro/MAAC history.
Snayd was the first of 12 Stags to finish in the top half of the 158-runner field.
Mia Strazzella completed the course in 28th place,
Catherine Gobo finished 30th,
Carlina Castro placed 34th, and

On the team ledger, the Stags placed fifth for the second consecutive season – matching their-best ever finish at the conference meet. Fairfield was comfortably ahead of sixth-place Sacred Heart by 43 points and sat only 12 points shy of Marist and Rider, who tied for third.
