FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The first day of the Fairfield Invitational featured the divers from Southern Connecticut State University men's team, the Sacred Heart University women's team, and the Fairfield University men's and women's team.
The Fairfield men's divers swept the top three spots in both the 1 meter and 3 meter dives with
Tyler Robie taking first place in the 1 meter off his 231.38 points and
Andrew Cataldo earning first place in the 3 meter based on his scoring 257.78 points.
Cataldo also registered 224.10 points for second place in the 1 meter while
Noah Duncan rounded out the top three with 216.30 points. In the 3 meter, Duncan was second after he tallied 228.53 points followed by Robie with 216.98 points.
On the women's side, Fairfield was represented by Lillian Tonole and
Elizabeth Beaulieu in both the 1 meter and 3 meter events. Tonole took home third place in the 1 meter by scoring 207.60 points through her six dives while Beaulieu garnered sixth place with 177.30 points. Sacred Heart's Sinclair Yadao took the top spot with her score of 238.88 points followed by teammate Lola Barrettt's 210.15 points.
Tonole was the Stags' top finisher in the 3 meter dive as well, securing fourth place based on her 215.93 points. Beaulieu collected sixth place in the event by scoring 204.08 points. Sacred Heart divers filled out the top three spots led by Yadao's 254.48 points, Barrett's 239.48 points, and Anna Boyers' 225.45 points.
The Fairfield Invitational continues on Saturday morning with the swimming events. The day begins at 11:30 am at the RecPlex pool.
