"Offensively, I was happy to see us execute some of the things that we've been focusing on," said Head Coach
Nancy Somera. "And on the defensive side, it was good to see us ramp things up, going from just 10 digs in the first set to finishing with 53. Overall, today was just a solid performance to defend our home court in a conference match."
Allie Elliott continued to set the pace on the outside for the Stags as she led all players with 13 kills on .393 hitting.
Mamie Krubally added 10 kills at a .438 clip from the right side; the sophomore has posted double-digit kills in her last four matches while hitting a scorching .442 during that span.
The balanced Fairfield attack also featured eight kills apiece from
Mikayla Haut (.368) and
Maya Walker (.333).
Harlan Wyche stepped into the starting rotation as a middle and put down six kills on eight swings, and Svenja Rodenbüsch added five finishers.
The offense was managed by
Blakely Montgomery and
Abby Jandro, who distributed 22 and 19 assists, respectively. Jandro also notched 14 digs to round out her sixth double-double of the fall.
Kyla Berg donned the libero jersey and posted a match-leading 15 digs while Montgomery added seven and
Noelle Carey tallied six in a libero and DS role.
At the net, Rodenbüsch and Walker teamed up for three blocks. Haut elevated for a pair of solo rejections and Krubally got her hands on one solo block.
