NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Four Stags crossed the finish line with .22 seconds of each other as Fairfield University Men's Cross Country made its final preparations for next week's MAAC Championship at the CCSU Mini-Meet.
Olli Muniz paced the Fairfield harriers with a time of 15:54.46 around the 5K course at Stanley Quarter Park.
The top four Stags finished nearly simultaneously in 59th through 62nd place. Muniz was followed by
Ryan Lindley (15:54.55),
Gabriel Montoya (15:54.56) and
George Hohenleitner (15:54.68).
Bryce Robinson rounded out the scoring Stags in 69th place at 16:04.19. Charlie Tesier and
Chase Orciuch also competed in Friday's varsity race.
As a team, Fairfield placed ninth of 10 teams. Host CCSU won the meet with all five of the Blue Devils' scoring runners among the top 13 finishers. James Sullivan set the individual pace with a time of 14:30.46.
The Stags are back in action next Saturday, Nov. 2 for the 2024 MAAC Championship at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y. The men's 8K championship race begins at 11 a.m.
