Caleb Fields Tabbed as MAAC Player of the Week

Fields scored a career-high 27 points in the Stags’ Dec. 30 win over Le Moyne

EDISON, N.J. – After netting a career-high 27 points in Saturday's 78-72 win for Fairfield University Men's Basketball over Le Moyne, Caleb Fields has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Fields earns the honor for the first time as a Stag.

Fields knocked down four three-pointers and canned all seven of his free throw attempts to fuel his 27-point day against Le Moyne. He also tallied five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Fields' 27 points – the most in a game by a Stag this season – surpassed his previous career high of 24 points established exactly five years prior on Dec. 30, 2018 at UT Martin in Fields' freshman season at Bowling Green.

On the season, Fields ranks second on the Stags and 11th in the MAAC with 12.6 points per game, sparked by a team-leading 27 three-pointers. He is also averaging 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.

Fields and Stags return to MAAC play this weekend riding a six-game winning streak to improve to 7-6. Fairfield is 1-1 in the MAAC, splitting a December series with a loss to Iona followed by a win at Rider.

The Stags visit Siena (2-11, 1-1 MAAC) on Friday and return to Leo D. Mahoney Arena to host Marist (7-4, 2-0 MAAC) on Sunday afternoon.
