2023-24: NABC All-District Second Team…All-Met Third Team… All-MAAC Second Team…MAAC All-Championship Team…MAAC All-Academic…Fairfield Men’s co-Athlete of the Year…MAAC Player of the Week (Jan. 2)…Appeared in 35 games with 33 starts, averaging 35.3 minutes per outing…Scored 592 points, the sixth most in Fairfield single-season history…Averaged a team-best 16.9 points per game…Sank a program-record 113 three-pointers…Shot 43.6 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from three-point range and 72.1 percent from the free throw line…Also recorded 4.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per contest…Scored in double figures in 29 games, including 11 games with 20-plus points…Scored a career-best 33 points and tied a Fairfield record with 10 three-pointers in the Jan. 7 win over Marist…Also topped 30 with a 32-point game in the CBI Quarterfinal win over Chicago State…Scored 19.7 points per game in Fairfield’s three-game run to the MAAC Championship Game…Played all 40 minutes of four consecutive games spanning from the MAAC Semifinals through the CBI Quarterfinals, finally subbing out for only the last 56 seconds of the season-ending CBI Semifinal loss to Seattle.
2022-23: Started 27 of the 28 games in which he appeared, conceding his starting point guard spot only on Senior Day…Ranked third in the MAAC with a team-high 36.1 minutes per game…Scored 11.7 points per contest, bolstered by 50 three-pointers and 81.2 percent shooting from the free throw line, good for sixth in the MAAC…Netted double figures in 16 games, including a season-best 21 in the wins over Evansville, Marist and Quinnipiac…made five three-pointers in the win over the Bobcats as the Stags scored a season-high 92 points…Also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
Before Fairfield: Caleb Fields comes to Fairfield from Bowling Green State University. He did not suit up for the Falcons in 2021-22, but played and started 25 games at the point in the 2020-21 campaign. The 6-2 guard averaged 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in that season.
Fields hails from Cape May Court House, N.J. and played scholastically at Wildwood Catholic, where he was named the Cape-Atlantic League Player of the Year, Non Public B South Jersey Player of the Year and Third Team All-State as a senior in 2018.
