FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Freshman Lucie Vincent earned the Northeast Conference (NEC) Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Fairfield University field hockey team split a pair of games last weekend. She scored one goal off five shots during the two-game run including the game-winning goal against Yale University last Friday.

Vincent posted her second goal of the season against the Bulldogs, netting the first of the Stags' two first-half goals against Yale. She hit the back of the cage with three minutes remaining in the first quarter, pushing Fairfield in front for good. The Stags would add another goal later in the second quarter, setting up the team's 2-1 win on the road.

For the season, Vincent leads the Fairfield field hockey team in scoring with two goals and one assist for five points. Her two goals also place in her a tie for second among NEC freshmen this season. Vincent's other points came in her collegiate debut as she collected a goal and an assist in the season opener at Hofstra University.

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach Jackie Kane, comes into this week with a 4-2 overall record after last week's split. The Stags return to the pitch when they host Villanova University on Sunday, September 24 at University Field. Game time is slated for 1 pm. The match begins a stretch where Fairfield will play three of four games at home after traveling for four of their first five dates on the 2023 schedule.
