MONTGOMERY, N.Y. – Fairfield University Women's Cross Country traveled to Twin Ponds on The Farm on Saturday for the Jasper Fall XC Invite hosted by Manhattan College. First-year harrier
Mia Strazzella set the pace for the Stags, finishing the 6k course in 23:01.1.
Strazzella crossed the line in 45th place in a jam-packed field of almost 200 runners. Fellow rookie
Natalie Haracz came in shortly behind Strazzella, finishing at 23:56.1 in 64th place. Right behind her was the Empire State native,
Isabella Colabatistto, who ran 24:00.4 in 67th place.
Megan Furlong led the next group of Stags across the finish line, finishing in 91st place.
Molly Ryle and
Michaela Kenny completed the 6k course in 97th and 98th place, respectively.
Catherine Lanahan and
Claire Mason ran neck-and-neck for the Stags, finishing at 25:30.9 and 25:33.9.
As a squad, the Stags placed 9th out of 19 teams. MAAC foe Quinnipiac took home the top spot, as give of their top runners finished in the top 15, led by individual meet champion Liv DiStefano. Today's course will play host to the 2023 MAAC Championship on Oct. 28.
The Stags will hit the ground running next on Saturday, Sept. 30, as they head to the campus of Lehigh University for the Paul Short Run.
