Cavanaugh Selected to All-Met Third Team

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Fairfield University Women's Basketball graduate forward Callie Cavanaugh was named to the All-Met Division I Third Team, representing her first regional selection of her career. Cavanaugh who averaged a team-best 16.0 points per game while starting all 30 games is the third different Stag to earn All-Met honors in the last five years.

"It seems like Callie is getting a new award or recognition every single week, and every single one is deserved!" Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "Making the All-Met team is another addition to her resume that is well deserved and exemplifies her domination in this region of the country. We are so proud of her and the legacy she has left at Fairfield."

Cavanaugh's selection to the All-Met team is just another postseason recognition for the graduate forward, who was also named to the DIAAA-ADA Scholar Athlete squad last week. She was also a First Team All-MAAC selection for the first time in her career. She finished third in the MAAC with her 16.0 points per game average while leading the conference with 194 made field goals. She also paced the team with her .420 field goal percentage.

She tallied double figures in 26 of her 30 games played while surpassing 20 points in six contests. She started the season with a career-high 36-point outburst at Brown, tying for the second most points scored in a game in Fairfield history.

Cavanaugh recorded 1,095 points in her four seasons with the Stags, placing 29th all-time. She also connected on 456 field goals and grabbed 490 rebounds in her Stags career.
