FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will return to the pool for the first since December when the squads host Manhattan College Saturday afternoon. The divers will start things off at 11 am with senior day festivities starting around 12:30 pm. The swimming portion of the dual meet will begin around 1 pm.

The Stags will face an opponent in a dual meet for the first time since the two teams welcomed Marist College to the RecPlex pool in early November. After that meet, Fairfield competed in the Terrier Invitational, a three-day event that included Boston College, Boston University, UMass, and Northeastern. While the team was not competing, Alexey Belfer and Chris Ford both competed in the US Open Championships which took place at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina.

Fairfield has enjoyed a great deal of success in dual meet competition this season with the men and women winning three of their four meets on the schedule. The two teams have also competed in several invitationals including a first-place finish for both at the Fairfield Invitational which opened the 2022-23 season. Following this weekend, the Stags have two more competitive dates before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships in Buffalo from February 8-11. Those two dual meets will take place on January 21 at Iona College and on January 22 at Siena College.

Manhattan College returns to dual meet action for the first time since the Jaspers swept Saint Peters on December 10. The men's  earned their victory based on a 112-56 score while the women's team collected the win based on its 98-66 score. The two programs also participated in the ECAC Winter Championships which took place from December 2-4 in East Meadow, N.Y.

The Fairfield seniors will be recognized for their dedication and effort over the last four seasons with eight women and six men from the teams being honored. The Fairfield women's seniors are Laina Bayles, Jenna Budicini, Julia Courtney, Liela Hastings, Alexandra Miko-Rydzaj, Paige Miro, Morgan Rogers, and Amelia Sicignano. The Stags men's seniors include Brody Biebel, Chris Ford, Will Robinson, Sam Tonole, Matt Torres, and Austin Twiss.
