WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – After a shutout victory in the semifinals Saturday, Fairfield University women's tennis was defeated Sunday by Quinnipiac in the 2022 MAAC women's tennis championship match presented by VisitNJ.
The Bobcats claimed the doubles point after a pair of victories in the No. 1 and No. 2 duels, 6-0 and 6-1 respectively, leaving the No. 3 match unfinished, with Sandra Bozinovic and Laina Campos tied with their opponents 4-4. In the singles' round, Quinnipiac captured wins in the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 6 flights to capture the title and advance to the NCAA tournament.
Fairfield women's tennis conclude the 2021-22 season at 10-11 including three wins in MAAC play during the regular season, with seven players bringing home 10 All-Conference awards for their play.
