POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – In the final road contest of the season, Fairfield University men's tennis brought home its eighth win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Marist Monday afternoon.

Andrew Immink and Charlie Morkel opened the day for the Stags with a shutout victory at No. 3 doubles followed by a win in the top flight by Jonathan Olive-Blanco and Keean Shah, 6-3 to claim the doubles point in the match and their team leading, tenth win of the season together.
Charlie Morkel stepped into the top flight in singles action, collecting his 16th victory of the season, 6-2, 6-3 followed by a win for Olive-Blanco, who gave up just two games at No. 2 singles, taking the duel, 6-1, 6-1. After falling in the opening set, Sam Hodges rallied back to claim his 15th win of the campaign at No. 3 singles, 3-6, 7-5, 2-6.
Griffin Schlesinger collected his 11th singles win of the season at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2, and Will O'Brien rounded out the day for the Stags in the No. 6 duel, splitting the first two sets 6-2, 3-6, before battling to the wire in a tiebreaker to settle the match, 12-10.
Fairfield men's tennis is back in action Thursday when they return home to host Quinnipiac. First serve between the Stags and the Bobcats is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from the WAC Tennis Courts, with live action on all six courts available via Playsight.
