The senior leads the MAAC and ranks in the top-30 in the nation in scoring at 19.7 points per game. Her 531 points this season is already the fifth most in program history and the most in nine years. She reached 20 or more points 15 times during the regular season including back-to-back 30-point outings last week.
Â
"We are all very pleased for Lou," Coach Frager said. "She has worked hard all season and to be voted Player of the year is a special honor. There are some very talented players in the MAAC, so receiving this award is a major achievement."
Â
Lewis earns her first career major award as she led the Stags as a shooter of the bench all season. She finished in the top-10 in the MAAC in 3-point field goals per game (2.0) and 3-point shooting percentage (.353). Her 64 3-pointers this season is tied for tenth on the program's single season list. For the season, she finished with a 7.0 scoring average, finishing in double figures nine times.
Â
"We're very happy that Sam received recognition as the Sixth Player of the Year," Coach Frager said. "She has been selfless all season long and has embraced her important role coming off the bench."

In his final season of coaching, Head Coach
Joe Frager was unanimously named the MAAC Coach of the Year for the first time in his career. Frager was the orchestrator of the Stags' successful regular season, leading the squad to a 19-1 record, the best conference winning percentage in program history. The Stags also won the fourth MAAC Championship in history and their first in 22 years.
Â
"I really appreciate being named Coach of the Year in the MAAC," Coach Frager said. "To me, it is recognition that our entire staff and our team did a great job during the regular season. There are a bunch of exceptional coaches in the MAAC, so receiving this is gratifying."
