DAYTON, Ohio. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team's offensive surge continued on Wednesday night as the Stags netted a season-high 90 points in a 90-83 victory over the Dayton Flyers in the final game of Fairfield's three-game road trip. Four players reached double figures led by
Andrea Hernangomez's 22 and Izabela Nicoletti-Leite's 20.

Even though we weren't at full strength, we played together, shared and took care of the ball, and showed great toughness down the stretch. The 90 points was the most scored by the Stags in a game since 2014 and the most they have tallied in regulation since Dec. 2, 2004.
The Stags shot a season-best 52 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range as they went 10-for-21 from long range.
That hot-shooting started in the first quarter as the Stags used a 15-4 stretch in the final four minutes to grab a 26-14 lead.
Mimi Rubino led the Stags with seven points in the opening quarter, which also featured 3-pointers by
Anna Eng and Mackenzie Martin.
After a tough second quarter, the Fairfield offense went into another gear, shooting 70 percent from the field and 75 percent from deep in the second half as they netted 52 second half points. Nicoletti-Leite led the way with 15 points during that span while connecting on all three of her 3-point attempts.
During the three-game road trip, Nicoletti-Leite is averaging 21 points per game while shooting 59 percent (13-for-22) from 3-point range.
Hernangomez also contributed to the offensive firepower by dropping a career-high 22 points and leading the team with nine rebounds.
The duo of Nicoletti-Leite and Hernangomez played the entire 20 minutes of the second half while combining for 29 points.
Rubino chipped in with a career-high 17 points on 5-for-9 shooting.
Callie Cavanaugh entered double figures for the seventh time this season with 13 points.
During Fairfield's three-game road trip, the Stags averaged 81.3 points per game while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range (27-for-63).
The Stags also dished out a season-high 20 assists led by Hernangomez and Nicoletti-Leite who each dished out five.
Fairfield will return home for a crosstown rivalry game against Sacred Heart on Sunday at 2pm.
