FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Dillon O'Connor and Alexis Gaulin both collected the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) diver of the week award for their performances over the weekend. The men's swimming and diving team competed against La Salle University while the women's swimming and diving team challenged La Salle and the University of Richmond.

O'Connor captured the 1 meter dive by accumulating 298.47 points in the event nearly 50 points better than the runner up. He also competed in the 3 meter dive and took home fourth place by tallying 217.28 points over the competition. The freshman has enjoyed success in his inaugural season with the program, beginning with his first collegiate competition at the Fairfield Invitational. He set the meet record for men's 3 meter dive and registered the fifth-best point total in school history with his score of 263.90. He also earned a victory in the 3 meter against Holy Cross (264.67 points) and Providence (247.43).

Gaulin took home the top spot in the 1 meter dive in the tri-meet with La Salle and Richmond with 216.53 points, just 10 points better than second place. She followed with another strong showing in the 3 meter, finishing second place with 220.15 points which was less than a point off first place. Gaulin has also performed admirably this season, highlighted by her first-place finish in the Providence meet with 231.29 points.

The Fairfield University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will continue their 2021-22 campaign this weekend with a pair of dual meets against MAAC opponents. The Stags will travel to Manhattan College on Friday for a 4 pm meet before hosting Iona College on Saturday for a 1 pm start.
