FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship Game will be a rematch of the 2019 edition when Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse hosts Siena this Sunday at noon on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. The game will be broadcast live by the Stags Sports Network on ESPN+ with J.J. Duke and 2017 MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year Abigail Witczak calling the action.

Fairfield is in search of its third straight MAAC Championship after the locking up the regular season crown for the third consecutive year. The Stags are 12-1 on the season following Thursday's 15-10 semifinal victory over Niagara. The lone blemish on Fairfield's record is a 15-11 loss to Siena on April 10 at Rafferty Stadium.

The April 10 win in Fairfield was a part of a nine-game winning streak for Siena, which has scored at least 13 goals in each victory of the run. The Saints have hit the 20-goal mark in back-to-back MAAC postseason wins over Canisius (21-11) and Monmouth (20-11). Overall, Siena will come to Rafferty Stadium boasting a record of 11-2.

Sunday's game will feature the MAAC's highest scoring offense in Siena – averaging north of 15 goals per game – pitted against the MAAC's toughest defense. The Stags have ceded 10.46 goals per game through the first 13 contests of the spring.

In the regular season meeting, Mary Soures had a seven-goal to lead Siena to victory, with Kaitlyn Dowsett added a hat trick. Kerry Gerety dished out a pair of assists and helped to control the time of possession with eight draw controls. That offensive trio along with defender Emily Pomeroy all landed on the All-MAAC First Team, with Saints' head coach Abigail Rehfuss tabbed as the MAAC Coach of the Year.

Meaghan Graham. Graham netted a pair of goals against the Saints in the regular season with Horning filling out the statsheet with one goal, one assist, three ground balls, three caused turnovers and six draw controls.

Fairfield is seeking its third consecutive MAAC Championship and sixth overall. Head Coach
Laura Field has been on the sidelines for four of Fairfield's five prior title wins – 2009 and 2015 as Associate Head Coach and as the Stags' Head Coach in 2018 and 2019. Fairfield also won the conference crown in 2001. The Stags are making their fourth consecutive MAAC Championship Game appearance and for the fifth in the last six tournaments.

Siena is in search of its first MAAC Championship, having previously reached the title game in 2005 and 2019.
