LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After matching his career high with nine points in last Wednesday's win over Sacred Heart,
Dylan Beckwith has been selected to the USILA/Dynamic Division I Team of the Week by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Beckwith scored five goals and handed out four assists in the 14-8 victory over the Pioneers.
Â
A graduate student attackman, Beckwith scored four of his points – three goals and one assist – during the 6-0 run that opened the game and staked Fairfield to a lead that it would not relinquish. He added one goal and one assist in the third quarter with one goal and two helpers in the fourth frame as Fairfield outscored the Pioneers, 6-2, in the second half.
Â
In addition to tying his career high, Beckwith's nine points were one shy of the Fairfield single-game record of 10 established by Spencer Steele '00 and later tied by Rob Scipioni '02 and Travis Nelson '08.
Â
On the season, Beckwith leads the Stags with 13 goals, 12 assists and 25 total points. He ranks fourth in the CAA with 5.00 points per game and slots third in the league with 2.40 assists per contest.
Â
With 187 career points, Beckwith is in striking distance of becoming only the fourth Stag and fifth player in CAA history to reach the 200-point plateau. In addition, his 94 career assists are eight short of the CAA record of 102 held by Delaware's Cam Howard. The Fairfield standard is 119 assists, set by J.T. Groarke '99 during his Hall of Fame career.
Â
The Stags will end a nine-day hiatus from competition on Friday, March 26 on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium for a 7 p.m. CAA clash with Hofstra.
