FAIRFIELD, Conn. – After three home wins to begin the 2021 season, Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse hits the road for the first time on Friday, March 19 for a 2 p.m. visit to Manhattan. The Jaspers make the return trip to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 21.

Fairfield's three victories came via a two-game sweep of Quinnipiac and, most recently, a win over Niagara on Saturday, March 13. Three Stags – Ellie Grefenstette, Kelly Horning and Arianna Lavelle – share the team high with eight goals apiece. Grefenstette adds three assists to round her her team-leading 11 points. Brooke Lennon has dished out a team-best four helpers in addition to netting four goals of her own.

Horning is the MAAC leader in both ground balls (12) and caused turnovers (10) and ranks third in the conference in draw controls (14). Her 3.33 caused turnovers per game slot second in the nation, and her average 4.0 ground balls per outing is good for eighth in the country.

The Fairfield defense is anchored by Olivia Conquest. Conquest owns an even .500 save percentage with 28 save and 28 goals allowed and boasts an 11.20 goals-against average.

Manhattan is seeking its first win of the spring after falling at Marist and at home against Siena to begin the slate. Merghan Rodino and Grace Lipponer have each scored three goals for the Jaspers, with Lipponer dishing out an assist for a team-best four points.

Ashley Gambardella has started both outings and played 90 of 120 minutes in the cage for Manhattan. She has posted a .429 save percentage with 12 saves and 16 goals allowed. Jessica Hise played the second half of the loss to Marist, ceding five goals and making six saves.

After the series with the Jaspers, Fairfield makes the trip to Western New York to cap the first half of the regular season with a Saturday, March 27 clash at Canisius.
