FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Dillion O'Connor set the Fairfield Invitational meet record for men's three-meters and registered the fifth-best point total in school history with his score of 263.90, highlighting the diving portion of the Fairfield Invitational on Friday night.
The Stags placed four in the top six for three meters with Sam Tonole taking second with a score of 221.05, followed by
Lukas Stanton's fourth-place finish (210.00) and
Noah Duncan taking sixth place (157.65).
In the 1 meter dive, Stanton was Fairfield's top finisher with his second-place run after securing a score of 228.15. The Stags also swept the next three slots with O'Connor (224.20), Tonole (203.70), and Duncan (193.30) rounding out those spots.
The women's 1 meter dive saw Lia Oppenheim secure second place overall with her score of 197.85, just off Sacred Heart's Olivia McNicholas who earned a score of 210.75. Alexis Gaulin collected her score o 179.30 for the fifth spot. Caitlin Campbell (154.10) and Lizy Beaulieu (145.30) finished in the top 10 while Lita Ritter also placed for the Stags with her score of 124.10.
The Stags also saw success in the 3 meter dive. Oppenheimer was edged out for the top spot as her final tally of 205.46 came up eight points short of the leader. Gaulin finished third in the event with a score of 199.95, while Campbell (179.65), Lila Ritter (127.20) and Beaulieu (120.15) also performed well in the event.
The swimming portion of the Fairfield Invitational will take place on Saturday afternoon with a scheduled start of 12 pm.
