FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse has selected three captains for the upcoming 2022 season, as announced on Friday by Head Coach Andrew Baxter. Bryce Ford, Dean Ford and Trent Moran – a trio of junior midfielders – will lead the Stags on the field this spring.
 
"Bryce, Dean, and Trent were all immediate contributors for us on the field from day one, and their contributions to our team culture over the last two years have been just as significant," said Baxter. "I am looking forward to having the three of them as leaders in our locker room as we continue our development as a program."
 
Bryce Ford was one of the top freshmen in the nation in 2020 – earning a spot on the College Crosse All-Freshman First Team as a midfielder. In that seven-game slate, Ford netted 16 points and nine assists. Among freshmen, he led the CAA and ranked sixth in the nation with 3.57 points per game. Ford did not suit up for the Stags in 2021 due to injury.
 
Dean Ford – Bryce's twin brother – is a two-year starter in the defensive midfield. He has totaled 21 ground balls and four caused turnovers, while also contributing to the Fairfield scoring effort with six goals and an assist through the first 17 games of his career.
 
Another two-year contributor in the midfield, Trent Moran has scored 12 goals with two assists in his career to date. He also scooped up 12 ground balls with a pair of caused turnovers. Moran was named CAA co-Rookie of the Week after netting a hat trick in his collegiate debut in the Stags' win over Stony Brook in 2020.
 
Moran and the Ford brothers are three of the 37 returners to the Fairfield Men's Lacrosse roster this season. The Stags will also introduce 20 newcomers into the mix for the upcoming campaign – the third for Head Coach Andrew Baxter and his staff.
