FAIRFIELD, Conn. – After being stopped short due to rain on Oct. 10, Fairfield University Women's Tennis reconvened with Sacred Heart on Saturday on the Walsh Athletic Center Courts. The Stags earned the victory in their first dual match of the fall by a 4-3 count.
Â
"I'm happy to come away with a win under some abnormal conditions. Having to come back mid-match due to rain was something that doesn't always happen, but we played the big points well and got some clutch wins from
Aina March and sophomore
Katarina Plumtree and a nice clincher from senior
Amanda Nowak. It's nice to finish the fall on a high point. Now it's time to prepare for the spring," said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker.
Â
The Stags entered the day leading 1-0, having picked up the doubles point 13 days ago before the match was halted due to rain. The wins on the doubles courts came from the tandem of
Sandra Bozinovic and
Katarina Plumtree at #2, and the duo of
Laina Campos and Amanda at #3.
Â
In today's singles action, Plumtree earned a win at #2, Nowak won a pair of 7-5 sets to get the point at #3 and March claimed a straight-set triumph at #5.

Today's match concluded the fall schedule for the Stags. The spring slate will be announced in the coming weeks on FairfieldStags.com.
