SHELTON, Conn. – The Fairfield University women's rowing team opened up its Fall campaign at the Tail of the Housatonic and came away with first place finishes in all five flights this afternoon. The event featured three 5K races and two 2K races.
The first 5K flight featured two Fairfield eight boats with the C entry taking the top spot in 22:14 and the Stags' D shell placing third in 24:27 with Mount Holyoke finishing between the two in 23:33.
The C entry included Maddie Gibson, Abby Morrill, Abby Carter, Sidney Timchak,
Molly Cronin,
Adalia Flores, Cassie Reilly,
Caroline McAndrew, and coxswain
Marianna Kalin. The D boat was comprised by
Makayla Reardon,
Michaela Thompson,
Jessica DeMarse,
Madisyn Durgin,
Megan Milligan,
Kaylee Vreeland, Mia Falon,
Alicia Glasheen, and coxswain
Athena Ramos.
In the 5k fours flight, the Stags took the top spot by 30 seconds, edging out Sacred Heart with a winning time of 21:09. The Fairfield crew was comprised by

Erin Dobbs.
The final 5k race featured the eights once again with Fairfield's A boat taking the gold with a time of 20:11, edging out Mount Holyoke which captured a time of 20:21. The Sacred Heart A boat secured third place, followed by the Stags' B shell.

Five entries competed in the 2k fours event with Fairfield sweeping the top two spots followed by two Sacred Heart boats. The Stags were represented by

Hannah Cross who completed the course in 9:23. In the A boat,
Kiersten Murray,
Brenna McDonnell,
Catherine Lapolla,

Charlotte Finnerty ran the race in 9:28.
The last race of the day featured the eight once again with the Stags' A taking first in 8:05, followed by the Fairfield B which ended with a time of 8:22. Sacred Heart A (8:33) and B (8:56) boats rounded out the race. The A boat consisted of

Fairfield returns to the water next weekend for the Head of the Housatonic which takes place in Shelton.
