EDISON, N.J. – Twelve members of the Fairfield University Baseball team were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team after maintaining a grade point average greater than a 3.2. With 12 student-athletes on the list, Fairfield tied Canisius College for the third most selections in the conference.
"We had a great semester academically," Head Coach
Bill Currier said. "We had a 3.45 GPA which is pretty much unheard of for a college baseball team. In my 34 years of head coaching, I never come close to that. The kids are really getting it done in the classroom and I'm proud of them."

Griffin Watson, and
Nick Weyant all earned the distinction for the Stags.
Hebner, a finance and philosophy major, led the Stags with a 3.71 GPA heading into the spring semester. Seniors Halpin (communications) and Cerno (sociology) both made their third-straight appearance on the All-Academic squad.
They were joined by juniors: Cafaro (finance), Grabek (international business and finance), Caruso (public health), Hebner, and Weyant (finance).
In their first year of eligibility for the All-Academic team, sophomores: Handal (finance), Noviello (finance and economics), Sansone (communications), Sutman (finance and marketing), and Watson (finance) earned a spot on the squad.
