Stags Secure 15-9 Road Win at New Hampshire

Nine Stags contribute to the scoring in the victory

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A 6-0 run spanning the final 19 minutes of the first half staked Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse to a 7-3 halftime lead at New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon, sending the Stags on their way to a 15-9 triumph. Monika Sivilli had a four-point day to lead nine different Stags that contributed to the scoring in the road win.

Sivilli netted a hat trick for Fairfield (2-4) and dished out an assist to round out her first career four-point day. The graduate student has potted 14 goals with three assists for 17 points this spring.

The balanced scoring effort saw five Stags post identical offensive lines of two goals and one assist: Maggie Fort, Kelly Horning, Diana DeVita, Cameryn Dera and Elizabeth Talluto. Fort's effort was her first three-point game and first multi-goal outing of her career, while her Talluto's output came in her collegiate debut for the Stags.

Jillian Winwood also scored a goal, and Ellie Grefenstette got on the board for the first time in her career with a goal. Rounding out the scoring, Elizabeth Rowe notched the first two points of her Fairfield career.

In the midfield, the Stags and Wildcats were even with 13 draw controls apiece. Fort lead the way with a career-best five draw controls and Maggie Reynolds hauled in four.

Reynolds was also a stalwart on the backline with a career-best six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Kennedy Slater also reeled in four ground balls. The defense was fortified by 12 saves and four ground balls from Olivia Conquest.

Elizabeth Blanding set the offensive pace for New Hampshire (1-3) with four goals. Issy Torres went the distance in the cage and made eight saves for the hosts.

Up next, Fairfield heads west to challenge #10 Denver on Sunday, March 8 at 3 PM (Eastern). The Pioneers are 4-1 following a 14-13 loss at Vanderbilt this afternoon in Nashville.

The Stags will also visit crosstown foe Sacred Heart before returning home to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium to open the MAAC schedule on Wednesday, March 25 against Quinnipiac.
