DENVER – Monika Sivilli netted a career-high six goals, but Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse was on the short side of 21-11 decision on Sunday afternoon at #14 Denver. An early 7-2 run by the Pioneers was enough to keep the Stags out of reach as the teams traded goals for much of the ensuing action.

With her six goals, Sivilli increases her team-best total to 20 markers on the season and ties
Diana DeVita for the team high of 23 points. Sivilli tallied a hat trick in each period to account for her half-dozen markers for the game.

DeVita herself added a four-point day for the Stags with a goal and three assists. DeVita leads the Stags with 13 assists and ranks second in the MAAC with 1.86 assists per game.

For the second straight game,
Elizabeth Rowe turned in a two-point effort with a goal and an assist. Fairfield (2-5) also got single tallies from
Kelly Horning,
Jillian Winwood and
Maggie Fort. An assist for
Meaghan Graham rounded out the Stags' scoring.

Fairfield held its own on the draw, led by a career-best seven draw controls from
Maggie Reynolds, as Denver claimed a 18-14 edge in the circle. Winwood also reach a new career high with five draw controls.

Reagan Bossolina and
Kennedy Slater each collected three ground balls to key the defensive effort, and Fort scooped up a team-leading four. Â Bossolina and Horning each recorded a pair of caused turnovers.

Olivia Conquest made the start in the cage. She was spelled by
Casey Collins, who registered six stops in nearly 40 minutes of work – the second and by far longest outing of her young collegiate career.

The Denver (6-1) attack was also led by a six-goal performance as Caroline Wiseman scored six for the Pioneers. Bea Behrins added four goals and an assist, and Quintin Hoch-Bullen posted a hat trick also with one assist.

Carson Gregg played the first 37 minutes in the Denver goal to earn the win. The lone save for a Pioneer came from Chloe Lewis during her stint in the cage for the final 17 minutes of play.

Up next, the Stags return to the Nutmeg State to meet another a team of Pioneers – crosstown foe Sacred Heart – at SHU's Campus Field to close out the non-conference slate on Wednesday, March 18.

Action returns to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on the following Wednesday, March 25 as the Stags open MAAC play against visiting Quinnipiac.
