FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse kicks off the 2020 campaign this Saturday at home against Holy Cross. Opening draw on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium between the back-to-back MAAC Champion Stags and visiting Holy Cross is slated for 1 p.m.
After an unbeaten trip through the MAAC slate last spring, the Stags earned their second consecutive conference crown and trip to the NCAA postseason. This season, Fairfield shared the top spot in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, with midfielder

Admission is free for all fans for all Fairfield Women's Lacrosse regular season home games this season.

Parking & Tailgate Information
Parking for fans is available on a first come, first served basis. Fans may be directed by Public Safety personnel to designated parking areas. Fans are asked to observe all parking signs as they relate to handicapped, reserved or restricted parking.

Please note that the Walsh Athletic Center/Rafferty Stadium parking lot is closed to the general public during men's and women's lacrosse home games. Tailgating is limited to the Loyola lot (Fairfield) and the Dolan East lot on Mooney Road (Holy Cross). Tailgating activities are prohibited in all other academic and residential parking lots and in the Kelley Center parking garage.

Consistent with the Athletic Department Policy, alcohol is NOT permitted inside Rafferty Stadium. The athletic departmentÂ
strongly discourages the consumption of alcohol at tailgate events while in the presence of student-athletes, both pregame and postgame and regardless of age. In accordance with Connecticut State Law, there shall beÂ
NO UNDERAGE DRINKING. Tailgate lots will be monitored by security and policies will be enforced.
Handicapped parking is available in all lots for those with proper permits on a first come, first served basis. Those in need of additional assistance are encouraged to contact Fairfield Athletics at 203-254-4000 ext. 2208 to ensure that proper accommodations are met.

The follow items are not permitted inside Rafferty Stadium:
• Alcohol of any kind
• Outside food and drink
• Glass bottles, cans, frozen drinks, coolers, thermoses or ice chests
• Seat cushions measuring larger than 18" and contain zippers, pockets or concealable areas
• Any animal with the exception of a service animal (must provide certification upon request)
• Weapons (including knives), any item that may be used as a projectile or one that is deemed dangerous by Stadium management
• Any other item deemed inappropriate by Stadium management

Scouting Holy Cross
Holy Cross begins its 2020 slate coming off of a 4-12 campaign. The Crusaders, who were tabbed for seventh of 10 teams in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, return four of their top five scorers from last spring, including scoring leader Jolie Creo (27g, 11a). Holy Cross is led by fifth-year head coach Amanda Belichick.

Saturday's game will be the 19th all-time meeting between Fairfield and Holy Cross with the series currently tied at 9-9. The Stags are 6-3 at home against the Crusaders, including victories in both meetings on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. This is the fourth straight season in which the teams have opened their seasons on opposing sidelines, with Holy Cross winning in Worcester in 2017 and Fairfield responding with back-to-back wins in 2018 and 2019.

The Stags hit the road for the first time in 2020 on Wednesday, Feb. 12 for a 3 p.m. clash at UConn. The Huskies will be opening their 2020 season against Fairfield.
Action returns to Rafferty Stadium on the following Wednesday, Feb. 19, when the Stags host Columbia at 3 p.m.
