FLUSHING, N.Y. - Fairfield women's tennis began the second half of their season with a tough match against St. Johns ultimately falling to the Red Storm by a score of 1-6 at the USTA National Tennis Center.
The Stags dropped the Doubles point but picked up their lone win in Singles play.
Anna Komer defeated Gabriela Tenorio at #4 Singles by a score of (6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-6)).
"St. John's is a really good team and they showed it today" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "I thought we were able to hang with them, but just couldn't break through on the big points. Anna played a great match at 4 and was able to get the win. We've got a few weeks to work on some of the issues that arose, and we'll be ready to go when we play Colgate in February!"
The Stags will return to action when they travel to New York to take on Colgate on February 16.
