PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Three boats competed on the second day of the Dad Vail Regatta, highlighted by a third-place finish by the men's 4x on the Schuylkill River Saturday. The men's varsity 8 and the women's varsity 4 also competed for the second day of the prestigious event.
The men's varsity 4x secured its third place finish by running the course with a time of 6:35.86 as Mercyhurst (6:17.21) and Washington College (6:25.34) rounded out the top three spots. Ohio State collected fourth place with its time of 6:45.33 followed by Iona with its final time of 6:47.04. Fairfield was represented by Joe Trapp,
Michael Bottega,
John Fee, and Jake Godwin.
The women's varsity 4 completed its two-day run with a fifth-place finish in the second final by securing a time of 7:20.26 behind the efforts of
Kelsey Carthew,
Maggie O'Donnell, Eileen Kennan,
Allison Sloan, and coxswain Katie Clark. Georgia won the race by crossing the line in 7:12.25 followed by Bowdoin (7:13.91), Georgetown (7:14.66), and Massachusetts (7:18.86).
The men's varsity eight competed in final 5 and came away with a second place run by navigating the course in 5:59.88. Villanova took first place with its effort of 5:56.81 while Case Western (6:02.32) and Vassar (6:14.49) rounded out the event. The Stags crew included
