FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse concludes a three-game homestand with a visit from #16/18 Georgetown on Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m. The Stags are 2-2 this season after a 21-15 win over Siena this Tuesday on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. The Hoyas, who will be Fairfield's first nationally-ranked opponent of 2019, make the trip with a record of 5-1 and riding a three-game winning streak.

Parking & Tailgate Information
Parking for fans is available on a first come, first served basis. Fans may be directed by Public Safety personnel to designated parking areas. Fans are asked to observe all parking signs as they relate to handicapped, reserved or restricted parking.

Please note that the Walsh Athletic Center/Rafferty Stadium parking lot is closed to the general public during men's and women's lacrosse home games. Tailgating is limited to the Loyola gravel lot (Fairfield) and the Dolan East lot on Mooney Road (Georgetown). Tailgating activities are prohibited in all other academic and residential parking lots and in the Kelley Center parking garage.
Consistent with the Athletic Department Policy, alcohol is NOT permitted inside Rafferty Stadium. The athletic department
strongly discourages the consumption of alcohol at tailgate events while in the presence of student athletes, both pregame and postgame and regardless of age. In accordance with Connecticut State Law, there shall be
NO UNDERAGE DRINKING. Tailgate lots will be monitored by security and policies will be enforced.
Handicapped parking is available in all lots for those with proper permits on a first come, first served basis. Those in need of additional assistance are encouraged to contact Fairfield Athletics at 203-254-4000 ext. 2208 to ensure that proper accommodations are met.
The follow items are not permitted inside Rafferty Stadium:
• Alcohol of any kind
• Outside food and drink
• Glass bottles, cans, frozen drinks, coolers, thermoses or ice chests
• Seat cushions measuring larger than 18" and contain zippers, pockets or concealable areas
• Any animal with the exception of a service animal (must provide certification upon request)
• Weapons (including knives), any item that may be used as a projectile or one that is deemed dangerous by Stadium management
• Any other item deemed inappropriate by Stadium management
Last Time Out
Fairfield found its offensive groove on Tuesday afternoon in a 21-15 victory over visiting Siena.
Dylan Beckwith set a new personal-best and a Rafferty Stadium venue record with nine points in the win, scoring a career-high five goals and distributing four assists.
Travis Ford matched Beckwith's goal output with a career-high five goals of his own.
Taylor Strough recorded his third career hat trick and handed out two assists while
Brian Reda scored a goal with four helpers.
Patrick Drake and
Brendan Quinn added matching statlines of two goals and one assist apiece.
Kyle Borda and
Brian Cosgrove each scored a goal and posted an assist, and
Cooper Mazurczak sent home his first career goal.
Scouting Georgetown
The #16/18 Georgetown Hoyas are 5-1 and riding a three-game winning streak. Most recently, the Hoyas handled Furman by an 18-6 count on Tuesday and have also defeated Sacred Heart, Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary's and Hofstra. Georgetown's lone setback thus far was a 14-8 home loss to Towson, the current #1 ranked team in the nation.
Daniel Bucaro and Jake Carraway have paced the Hoyas' offense through six games with 32 and 29 points, respectively. A First Team All-Big East honoree in 2018, Bucaro's 19 goals and 13 assists are both tops for Georgetown thus far. The action has started at the faceoff X with James Reilly, who is 57-of-117 (.487) with 19 ground balls and an assist.
Looking to replace graduated 2018 Big East Goalkeeper of the Year Nick Marrocco, Owen McElroy has drawn the starting job in the Georgetown cage. McElroy owns a 10.25 goals-against average and .536 save percentage with 52 goals allowed and 60 saves.
All-Time Series vs. Georgetown (Georgetown leads 4-1)
Fairfield's win in Washington, D.C. in 2016 was the Stags' first in five all-time meetings with the Hoyas. It was also the first non-conference clash between the two clubs, who met annually from 2006-09 as members of the ECAC Lacrosse League.
Jesuit Lacrosse
Fairfield is 25-24 all-time against in men's lacrosse against its fellow Jesuit institutions. The tally includes winning records over Boston College (3-2), Canisius (4-0), Holy Cross (8-1) and Saint Joseph's (7-3).
