MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – Fairfield men's tennis competed for the first time outdoors this spring as they took on the College of Charleston falling by a score of 1-6.
The Stags dropped the Doubles competition point falling at #2 and #3 Doubles but fought hard in Singles.
Tyler Shibles picked up the only win of the day for Fairfield as he defeated Thomas Easton (7-6, 6-2) at #2 Singles.
Allan Magid also went three sets against Johnny Wang at #3 Singles but eventually fell by a score of (6-3, 1-6, 4-6).
"For our first outdoor match I thought we competed well" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. Charleston is always near the top of the CAA and we hung in with them. They just were better at making an extra ball today. Tyler played great at #2 SIngles to pick up our lone win and Allan played at a high level as well."
The men will remain in South Carolina as they take on Coastal Carolina on Tuesday at 12 P.M.
