NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Fairfield men's tennis fought hard in their match against Fordham this evening but ultimately fell by a score of 0-7. 
 
The Stags dropped the Doubles point early as Jan Parizek and John Hatala were defeated 3-6 in #3 Doubles while Allan Magid and Tyler Shibles fought through #2 Doubles but fell by a score of 3-6. 
 
In Singles play, Lewis Edwards played a great match against Fabian Mauritzson but was defeated in three sets (7-6, 5-7, 8-10).  Tyler Shibles was also defeated in three sets by Max Green (6-3, 6-7, 2-10). 
 
"The first match is always a tough one" said Head Coach Jeff Bricker.  "We had some tough losses tonight. The key will be how we respond next week. We've got a ton of potential, we need to put it together now."
 
The Stags will return to action on Saturday, February 16, in Storrs, Connecticut as they take on UConn at 12 PM.
