FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Athletics has announced the addition of three staff members to the Department of Athletics.
Gregg Childers has been named the Stags' Coordinator of Equipment Operations and Services, and
Michael Thomas and
Katelyn Klercker have joined the Sports Medicine staff.

"We are thrilled to have Mike Thomas returning and to welcome Katelyn and Gregg to the Fairfield Stags community," said Director of Athletics
Paul Schlickmann. "While much of the hard work done by our internal operations staff takes place behind the scenes, it certainly does not go unnoticed by our coaches and student-athletes. Mike, Katelyn and Gregg are all welcome additions and will be an integral part of the championship experience we strive to provide for all of our student-athletes."

Gregg Childers comes to Fairfield as Coordinator of Equipment Operations and Services after most recently working as the Athletic Equipment Specialist at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Childers has also worked in operations for the New York Red Bulls and served as Head Student Manager of Seton Hall Men's Basketball as an undergraduate. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Seton Hall and later received a Master of Sports Administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson.

After two years as a graduate assistant,
Michael Thomas will remain with the Fairfield Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Thomas, who earned a Master's degree in Communication from Fairfield in 2019, also holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Quinnipiac University. Prior to coming to the Stags, he gained athletic training experience at the collegiate level at the University of Colorado, Yale University and the University of Bridgeport.

Katelyn Klercker will also join Fairfield Sports Medicine as an Assistant Athletic Trainer after serving in a similar role at Marist since January of 2018. As an undergraduate at Lock Haven University, Klercker worked with a variety of athletics programs, including football, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's soccer, while earning a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Healthcare Administration at Marist.
