FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Tennis opened the MAAC slate on Saturday with a 7-0 victory over visiting Rider. The Stags won all three doubles matches before sweeping the six singles matchups to complete the shutout.

Fairfield's win in doubles featured a victory at No. 1 doubles for the newcomer duo of
Kaya Gore and
Jonathan Olive-Blanco.
Tyler Shibles and
Griffin Schlesinger took the win at No. 2 with
Lewis Edwards and
Stefan Mitrovic capping the effort with a triumph at No. 3.

The singles, the lineup saw Shibles, Olive-Blanco, Edwards, Schlesinger,
Allan Magid and Mitrovic all emerge victorious to lock up the 7-0 final.

"Rider is much improved and they came to play," said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "With Kaya being sick, it was great for a lot of the young guys to get in and get a wins. I thought we played the big points really well, but we need to work on our transition game for next weekend. Overall it's great to get a MAAC win!"

The Stags continue the fall dual season next Saturday with a noon visit to Hofstra.
