Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls At Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Fairfield field hockey struggled to find their stride on offense as they were handed their first loss of the season against Drexel on Friday night by a score of 1-4. Kaley McMullen scored the lone goal for the Stags in the second half while Zoe Rosen tallied four saves.

Fairfield battled in the first half but went down 1-0 after the Dragons scored just seven minutes before halftime.  In the second half, Drexel came out firing as they scored their second goal of the game just three minutes into the half.  The Stags tried to mount a comeback after McMullen made it a 2-1 margin but could not build off of the momentum, ultimately allowing two more goals before the game ended.

Fairfield was outshot by the Dragons 11-9 and 8-3 in shots on goal.  They also attempted five penalty corners which was one less than Drexel's six.  The Stags fell to 2-1 on the season.

The Stags will remain in Philadelphia this weekend as they prepare to take on the Temple Owls on Sunday afternoon at 12 P.M.
