FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse will play for the fourth Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship in program history on Saturday, May 5. Opening draw for the third-seeded Stags and fourth-seeded Canisius is slated for 1 p.m. at Marist's Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The action will be broadcast live on

The Stags reached their ninth MAAC Championship Game on the heels of a 17-9 victory over Monmouth in Thursday's semifinal round.
Kathleen Hulseman led the scoring effort with four goals and two assists to tie her career high of six points.
Taylor Mitchell also matched a career high with four goals and handed out an assist to set a new personal best with five points. On the opposite end of the field,
Paulina DiFatta continued her strong postseason with 14 saves with Fairfield's stifling defensive effort limiting Monmouth's First Team All-MAAC midfielder Caroline Corbliss and Second Team attacker Nicole Ceraso to no goals and one assist between them.
Canisius downed top-seeded tournament host Marist, 13-11, in the semifinals. The two-time defending MAAC Champion Golden Griffins will also be playing in their ninth MAAC Championship Game on Saturday.
Series History
Following last month's 11-8 victory in Buffalo, the Stags hold a 15-12 lead in the all-time series with Canisius. The April win snapped a four-game winning streak in the series for the Griffs, with Fairfield's last triumph prior to this spring coming in the 2015 MAAC Championship Game.
Saturday's game will mark the fifth consecutive spring in which the Stags and Griffs are meeting in the MAAC postseason, though the four previous encounters were all contested on the Griffs' home turf in Buffalo. Saturday will also be the fifth time that the two clubs will clash in the MAAC Championship Game (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018).
