PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Fairfield University men's rowing team competed at the Dad Vail Regatta over the weekend, highlighted by the varsity quad taking home a bronze medal.
The varsity quad secured the third-place finish by running the course with a time of 7:14.99 behind Mercyhurst (6:33.61) and Michigan (6:57.84). The Stags entry was comprised by Chris Lamberti, Matt Daza,
Charles Cooper, and
Liam Creegan.
The varsity 4 took sixth place in its heat by crossing the finish line in 6:20.22, just seconds behind Stetson's winning time of 6:16.17. Brock (6:17.76) and Bowdoin (6:18.38) rounded out the top three in the trail. The Stags earned a spot in the second final and took fifth place with its time of 6:57.45. Army (6:42.57), Wentworth Institute (6:48.86) and Middlebury (6:51.04) completed the top three in the race. Fairfield was represent by

The junior varsity 4 finished its heat race in 6:44.90 which sent it to a semifinal run, taking fifth in that race with a time of 7:07.99. Drexel (6:51.88), Brock (6:57.21), and Wentworth Institute (7:00.99) secured the top three spots in the semis. Fairfield secured a spot in the third final and won the race in 7:01.62, followed by MSOE (7:06.33) ad Lehigh (7:06.78).

The lightweight varsity 4 won its heat by taking a time of 6:33.77, ahead of Delaware (6:55.71) and Lafayette (6:56.18). The win sent the crew into the final where the Stags secured a sixth-place run with a time of 6:49.59 with Mercyhurst (6:29.99), Michigan (6:31.98), and Fordham (6:33.67) netting the top three slots. The novice 4 also competed at the regatta and opened the event with a time of 6:52.97 in its heat race. The Stags netted a sixth-place finish in the semifinal by clocking in at 7:25.94, behind winner Mercyhurst (6:46.55), Delaware (7:00.68), and Grand Valley (7:05.57). In the third final, Fairfield secured sixth place in 7:29.20 with Bowdoin (7:02.29), St. Thomas (7:10.53), and Wentworth Institute (7:10.81) filling out first, second, and third respectively.
