FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield women's tennis played Quinnipiac tough this afternoon but could not pick up the big points when they mattered ultimately falling 7-0 against the Bobcats.
The Stags were not able to win in Doubles competition, but
Diana Prinos and
Anna Komer kept it close in #1 Doubles falling 4-6.
Jessica Pil and
Emily Lombardi also were defeated 4-6 in #2 Doubles.
Diana Prinos battled in #1 Singles against Dominique Vasile but ended up losing the match (4-6, 6-3, 6-10).
Jessica Pil also made it interesting in #4 Singles against Layla Rodriguez falling (3-6, 7-6, 5-10).
"Tough match in very cold conditions, but I thought we competed hard" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "We were close at a number of spots, just couldn't get over the top."
The Stags will finish their regular season with two away matches as they travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Thursday to take on Marist at 3 P.M. and then go to Loudonville N.Y. to face Siena on Saturday at 12 P.M.
