SHREWSBURY, N.J. – Fairfield women's tennis tallied their second straight win in two days defeating MAAC opponent Monmouth 6-1 as the Stags improved to 3-1 in conference play this season.

The Stags dominated Doubles competition winning all three matches.  Diana Prinos and Anna Komer defeated Sophia Fredriksson and Maria Ivanova in #1 Doubles 6-0 to start the day.  Jessica Pil and Emily Lombardi then took down Alexandra Graff and Caroline Mattise 6-1 in #2 Doubles.  Courtney Connors and Gabriella Campos finished it out with a 6-2 win over Chinonye Gabriel and Rachel Rosenthal in #3 Doubles.

Emily Lombardi began Singles competition with a (6-3, 6-2) win over Sophia Fredriksson in #2 Singles while Diana Prinos followed up with a win over Alexandra Graff (6-2, 6-4) in #1 Singles.  Courtney Connors took down Maria Ivanova in #5 Singles (6-1, 7-5) and Jessica Pil defeated Rachel Rosenthal in #4 Singles (6-4, 7-5).  Gabriella Campos finished the day in a battle with Caroline Mattise in #6 Singles and ended up winning (3-6, 7-6, 13-11).

"Another solid performance for the women at Monmouth" said Head Coach Jeff Bricker.  "We were lights out in doubles which is nice to see since we've had to move some teams around with injuries. Monday is an off day before we get the top 3 teams in the conference. I'm excited for this week and the women are ready."

Fairfield will return home on Wednesday to take on Quinnipiac at the Walsh Athletic Center tennis courts at 3 P.M.
